Parental control tools and browser-level content filters are the practical way to keep a shared machine appropriate for whoever else uses it.

What this is, and what it is not

Fracture Point is a game of chance played with virtual coins that cost nothing. Winning a long run of cuts here tells you nothing about how a real-money game would go, and it is not practice for one. Social games can be tuned to feel generous in a way that paid gambling never is; ours is not tuned at all, but the general warning still stands. Treat a good session as a good session and no more than that.

Taking a break

Decide how long you are playing for before you deal the first card, and keep to it. If the session has stopped being enjoyable, stop — there is nothing to recover, since nothing was ever put in. Closing the tab clears the balance completely, which makes walking away genuinely costless.

• Set a time limit in advance and use a timer rather than your own judgement mid-session.
• Play when you are rested and in reasonable spirits, not to fill a bad evening.
• Keep free card games out of the same mental bracket as money you actually hold.
• Break up long stretches at the screen; a fast game makes an hour disappear quickly.
• If the pace starts to feel compulsive rather than fun, close the tab and leave it closed for the day.

Checking in with yourself

A handful of honest questions are worth more than any rule we could write. Are you playing for longer than you meant to, most times you sit down? Do you find yourself returning to the table when you are stressed, low, or avoiding something? Has anyone close to you mentioned the amount of time this takes up? Would you feel uncomfortable telling someone how long today's session ran?

If those questions land uncomfortably, that is worth taking seriously even in the absence of money. Stepping back for a week is a reasonable response. So is talking to a doctor, a counsellor, or a support organisation that deals with gambling and gaming habits in the country where you live — local services will know what is available to you far better than we could from here.

Where we stand

We do not sell coins, we do not run loot boxes, we do not send promotional messages urging you back, and we do not build streak mechanics designed to make a missed day feel like a loss. The balance resets to a thousand on every reload precisely so that no session can be carried, defended, or chased. That is a deliberate design choice, not an oversight.
